An original 1951 Edition or ‘THE RED BERET’ The Story of the Parachute Regt 1940-45 by Hilary St George Saunders. This book has been personally signed by Maj Gen Roy Urquhart, the Commander of the 1st British Airborne Division during WW2. When I acquired the item I asked the previous owner about the authenticity of the autograph. His reply was that he asked Urquhart to sign a number of books on the airborne if he would send it to him. Urquhart's reply were three personally signed labels which he then put into the books, this being one of them. I also did my own little detective work and indeed it seems to be the real deal...With over 300 pages of information and photographs graphs this is recognised as the most definitive work on the British Parachute Regt.
